Advising Entrepreneurs and Companies with an Entrepreneurial Spirit
David Ross ’88 knows what it takes to build a business. His twenty-year career as an entrepreneur and business owner recently transitioned to a role in business analysis and consultation. As chief innovation officer of KRD LLC, Mr. Ross provides counsel to clients about strategic development and innovative business solutions. As an expert in entrepreneurship, Mr. Ross is also an adjunct professor and entrepreneur-in-residence at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he educates business students about the entrepreneurial process. In October of 2012, Mr. Ross visited The Hun School of Princeton and offered advice and inspiration to the small business class as they launched their own businesses.
“Starting a business is a risk. Three war-zone deployments to Afghanistan, puts risk into perspective, though,” said Brendan Conlon ’91.
Mr. Conlon is an expert in assessing risk and minimizing it. Prior to starting his own company in January of 2012, and following his service to the United States Navy, Mr. Conlon worked for the National Security Agency (NSA). For twelve years, Mr. Conlon was on the frontlines of United States defense intelligence and government directed analysis of cyber threats.
In November of 2012, Gina Mancuso ’00 was selected by Under30CEO as one of fourteen most promising young entrepreneurs to watch in the Washington, D.C. area. The young alumna is currently developing and launching an online clothes-shopping platform, LoveThatFit, which will allow users to see how clothes fit and look before making purchases. LoveThatFit is primed to revolutionize the way individuals shop for clothes online.
After graduating from The Hun School, Michael Gidding ’08 studied chemical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and earned an BS/M.Eng Chemical Engineering and MBA in Business Administration and Energy, Environmental, and Chemical Engineering.
