For Claire Smith ’15, co-editor of The Hun School student newspaper The Mall, writing has been a part of her life since she was a young child. “I always loved to write, I was on the staff of my elementary school newspaper!”
For the last year, Claire has found an outlet as a student reporter for the Bucks County based newspaper, The Intelligencer. “ I like that they (editors at The Intelligencer) are not restrictive. I can write about what I am interested in.” For Claire, that includes an article about her experience on The Hun School’s summer service learning trip to the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana and a response to Miley Cryus’ controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance. “I was able to write a column about Miley Cyrus the night of her performance. It was exciting to see the public respond and comment on my work.”
The Hun School of Princeton is an independent, coeducational, private day and boarding college preparatory school. Student-centered, hands-on learning prepares students for the global community in which they will live and work.
